With approximately five kilometers of marked trails winding through 140 acres of mature forest, there's ample opportunity for adventure throughout the year. Feel free to roam these diverse terrains at your leisure, free of charge. While visiting the Food Hub during regular hours is welcome, it's not a requirement.During the winter months, embrace the snowy landscapes of the Haliburton Highlands by snowshoeing or fat biking through Abbey Gardens. Our trails are groomed after heavy snowfall, providing ideal conditions for winter exploration. Leashed dogs are welcome, provided their waste is properly disposed of.For those seeking a guided experience, snowshoe hikes are available for groups of 10 or more at a cost of $10 per person. Alternatively, you can embark on a self-guided journey through the snow-covered trails.Don't have snowshoes? Not to worry! Rentals are available for just $10 per person, with options for both adults and children. With 400km of groomed trails, Haliburton Forest offers snowmobile rentals to help you explore everything this winter wonderland has to offer. Gear up with Haliburton Forest’s snowmobile equipment, from snowmobile helmets to boots, which are also available to rent (gear rental available onsite only).
Our snowmobile fleet consists of 600 ACE double seated (2 UP) Ski Doos.

Despite this growth in popularity and use, we’re committed to maintaining your winter getaway experience without sacrificing the quality of our snowmobile trails. Snowmobile freely: By limiting the number of permits, and having an extensive network of trails, riders never experience a back-to-back line up.
Gasoline, oil, snowmobile rentals, accommodations, and food are available at Base Camp (with free parking) near Kennisis Lake.
Valid ownership and insurance per snowmobile/ATV (no side by sides please) must be presented to staff in the Main Office upon check in.
